Misfortune near the German border!
A person died in a cable car crash on Jested Mountain. The victim is the driver who just wanted to drive up the 1000 meter high mountain near Zittau alone with his gondola. The wagon had just passed the first pillar of the cable car at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday when it fell 15 meters. The driver died at the scene of the accident.
Why the cable car crashed is still unclear. Particularly bitter: On Monday, the wagon should be taken out of service for maintenance work.

The driver of a rear gondola had to watch the accident with his 14 passengers. He couldn’t help his colleague because his car stopped in the air. Firefighters rescue the 15 occupants with a lifting platform. They are uninjured, but are in shock and receive psychological care, as a spokesman for the rescue workers told the news portal “Ceske Noviny”.
