OM Digital Solutions, acquiring Olympus, announces its first high-end camera

Olympus, which has made a worldwide reputation for the photographic cameras it produces, decided to sell its camera production division in 2020. The company, which became OM Digital Solutions after being sold to a Japanese investment fund, continued its work on camera production. The formation, which has been silent for a while, introduced its first camera.

New flagship camera: OM System OM-1

The OM series hosted the cameras that Olympus users have often used in the past. So much so that a camera called the OM-1 was the first product in the series that began in 1972. Although Olympus is now sold, it finds a place for itself in the name part of the new product. The product named OM System OM-1 will be the last Olympus signed product of the company according to many information.

The OM System OM-1 device is the first high-end Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera from OM Digital Solutions, which acquired the Olympus camera business. Besides shooting at high speed, it also offers various computational photography modes.

OM System OM-1 is designed to shoot 4K video at 60 fps for up to 90 minutes with a full battery or up to two hours with external power. The device has a 20-megapixel CMOS sensor. It can also shoot 50 frames per second with autofocus and autoexposure. In addition, it was released with an upgraded processor that allows it to take photos at up to 120 frames per second with exposure adjustment.

Although the body part of the device has been redesigned, it is similar to previous Olympus products. The airtightness of the device, which has a 3-inch articulating touch screen with 1.62 million dots, is rated IP53. Additionally, the Viewfinder has been upgraded to a 5.76 million-dot OLED panel.
