The features of the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 A mobile graphics card have been revealed. It is stated that the new card offers slightly lower performance than the previous RTX 3050 models with Ampere architecture. Details in our news…
NVIDIA’s new RTX 3050 A mobile graphics card has lower performance than expected
The NVIDIA RTX 3050 A mobile graphics card comes with a 64-bit memory interface and 4GB GDDR6 memory. This card has 1792 CUDA cores and its TGP (Total Graphics Power) value varies between 30W and 50W. It is stated that the new graphics card offers slightly lower performance than the previous RTX 3050 models with Ampere architecture.
The RTX 3050 A is built on the Ada Lovelace architecture and uses the AD106 GPU core. This card has a lower memory interface than the RTX 3050 Laptop and RTX 3050 6GB models. Here is the comparison table:
Features | RTX 3050A Laptop | RTX 3050 4GB | RTX 3050 6GB |
---|---|---|---|
Architectural | Ada Lovelace | Ampere | Ampere |
CPU | AD106 | GA107 | GA107 |
CUDA Cores | 1,792 | 2,048 | 2,560 |
Memory Interface | 64-bit | 128-bit | 96-bit |
Memory Type | GDDR6 | GDDR6 | GDDR6 |
Maximum Memory | 4GB | 4GB | 6GB |
TGP | 45W (35-50W) | 60W (35-80W) | 60W (35-80W) |
Production Process | 4nm | 8nm | 8nm |
PCIe Connection | 4.0×8 | 4.0×8 | 4.0×8 |
The clock speeds of the RTX 3050 A are not yet clear, but it is known that the Ada Lovelace architecture usually has higher clock speeds. The new card is expected to offer lower performance than its predecessors, but it is still expected to provide sufficient gaming and graphics performance on portable devices.
This new card is said to reduce some of the performance by shutting down some non-functional sections of NVIDIA’s AD106 chip and using lower-level components. This keeps the card’s cost down while making it a viable option for portable devices.
