Nürnberg-Rostock 1-0 – double luck brings Club 2nd place – 2nd Bundesliga

This double swap has paid off!

In the 57th minute, Nürnberg coach Robert Klauß (36) replaced the attackers Erik Shuranov (19) and Lukas Schleimer (21). Just 135 seconds later, both of them scored the decisive goal in the 1-0 win against Hansa Rostock. Schleimer laid it flat in the middle, Shuranov closed it freezing!

Little going on at the gates in the first half! Rostock was mostly low and often left the ball to FCN. Nuremberg was only really dangerous in the fifth minute with a shot by Dennis Borkowski (19) in the penalty area. Hansa also had a good chance: Following a corner, Bentley Baxter Bahn (29) checked club goalkeeper Christian Mathenia (29) from 20 meters in the 29th minute.

Even after the break, Hansa missed the lead twice. First Nik Omladic (32) finished in the middle, then Streli Mamba (27) failed after a fine pass from ex-FCN captain Hanno Behrens (31/2015 to 2021 in Nuremberg) completely free to Mathenia.

Then Shuranov and Schleimer did better!

Nuremberg then brought the victory over time, because Rostock substitute Ridge Munsy (32) left THE huge chance to equalize and missed the empty goal from a few meters.

The FCN remains undefeated and jumps to second place in the table, at least temporarily. Newcomer Rostock is still in 13th place with seven points.

On Saturday, September 25th, Hansa will play against Schalke. The club had to play in the top game at HSV the next day.
