NSO Group’s spyware Pegasus has a new competitor!

NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware comes to mind first when it comes to illegal means of spying on people’s phones. But there’s a new player in town now. Here are the details…

Russia has arrested members of the famous ransomware gang REvil!

Russia has arrested members of the world-renowned ransomware gang REvil. He also confiscated his assets exceeding TL 100 million.

Israel’s new spyware came from QuaDream!

Over the past year, we’ve seen a lot of malware emerge that follows the path of Pegasus. However, either none of them were successful enough or because they were very good at their job, we did not hear their names again.

But new reports suggest that Israel-based QuaDream, a relatively low-profile company, could take competition with NSO Group to the next level. For this new spyware, it is said to take advantage of a vulnerability in iPhones, similar to Pegasus.

Quadream, which is mentioned in the allegations, has actually been an inconspicuous structure since its establishment in 2016, and in fact, what it does is unknown. However, after 2019, it managed to attract the attention of some countries and companies, such as Saudi Arabia, as it advertised the capture of the information of 50 different smartphones for $ 2.2 million.

According to a report shared by Reuters, information from five different unnamed sources confirms that QuaDream has the aforementioned spyware. In addition, these people state that the company started using the mentioned vulnerability in iPhones at the same time as NSO Group’s Pegasus.

An NSO Group spokesperson, who made a statement on the subject, said that they did not cooperate with QuaDream. It also implies that this relatively new industry, called cyber intelligence, is growing at a rapid pace globally, so we may see similar incidents more often in the future.
