HMD Global has until now described itself as “Europe’s largest smartphone manufacturer”. However, it no longer carries this title with Nokia branded phones. The company has removed Nokia-branded Android smartphones from its online stores in Europe. However, Nokia branded push-button phones such as the 3210 are still being sold. So, will Nokia no longer be produced? Here are the details…
HMD Global removed Nokia smartphones from sale in Europe
Nokia had maintained its presence in some markets for many years by offering alternative Android phones to Samsung, Google and Motorola. However, with HMD’s latest stock adjustment, we can say that this effort is officially over. In fact, when the company rebranded from HMD Global to Human Mobile Devices, it assured its users that it would still be the source of Nokia phones.
However, it appears that smart models such as Nokia G60 and G42 have been removed from websites in countries such as the UK and Germany. Let’s say that although the devices have been removed from sale in the official store, they are still on sale on platforms such as Amazon.
In short, if we look at the latest developments, we can say that HMD Global is gradually discontinuing Nokia branded smartphones. However, we should also point out that Nokia’s iconic feature phones still remain popular in Europe.
