“No one in the Kremlin cares how many people die” – Massive casualties on the Russian side

Berlin The number of casualties on the Russian side has recently skyrocketed. As the White House announced earlier this week, US intelligence estimates that more than 20,000 soldiers have been killed and a further 80,000 injured since last December alone.

US Chief of Staff Mark Milley spoke this week of “maybe 250,000” casualties on the Russian side who have been killed or injured since the war began on February 24, 2022. An almost unbelievable number, since it means that almost the entire army with which Putin began his campaign has been wiped out.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has replaced them with hundreds of thousands of mobilized reservists, Milley told Foreign Affairs magazine.
