Among them, Leoben’s own Nico Lieber made headlines at the ‘Austrian People’s Run Cup Final’ in Murau, where he triumphed in the U14 category, completing a challenging 2,000-meter race with remarkable speed and stamina, leaving his competitors far behind.

LEOBEN. The 7th autumn round of the Austrian 1st Bundesliga East saw an intense matchup between ESV Leoben and KV Kronlachner Wr. Neustadt, culminating in a 4:4 draw. Gerhard Plank stood out with an impressive score of 623 pins, earning the title of best player of the day.

Armin Stocker led the charge, scoring 612 pins and earning the title of best player of the match. After six rounds, ESV Leoben is currently in second place, just one point shy of the leaders.

EISENERZ/SLOVENIA. The talented 14-year-old athlete Anna Brandner, formerly of SC Erzberland in Eisenerz, had a successful outing at the FESA Games 2024 in Velenje, Slovenia. Competing in the Nordic combined events, she achieved third place in the individual competition and secured a team bronze alongside teammates Sarah Lexer and Lena Golmitzer.
Additionally, Anna clinched a silver medal in individual special jumping and celebrated victory in the team event with Amy Dögl and Cordula Resch. She capped off her remarkable weekend by setting a new hill record of 74.5 meters, contributing significantly to Austria’s success in the national ranking of the ‘Youth I’ category at the FESA Games 2024.

Following her world champion title in hammer throw in the W 70 class earlier this year, Plammer continued her winning streak, dominating the hammer throw, shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw at the championships.

LEOBEN. The season-ending tournament at Tennis Schager concluded with a memorable closing ceremony. The club championship title was claimed by Markus Wasmayer, Daniel Tertinek, Matteo Bernhardt, Martin Beikircher, and Ulf Zirbisegger, who will represent their club at the Leoben city championships next May.

LEOBEN/LINZ. After a lengthy summer break, the sixth stop of the Bikement Austrian Pumptrack Series took place in Linz. David Fellner from Leoben, who previously secured third place at the last two race stops, participated in this event. He faced challenges getting back into the groove after a long hiatus but managed to complete his runs without errors, finishing fifth overall with a time of 11.558 seconds.
