The mobile-based game RPG Guild of Guardians (GOG) is set to introduce new playable NFT characters based on the IP of eight popular professional E-Sports teams.

Users will be able to play with characters based on Cloud9, NAVI, Ninjas in Pajamas, NRG, SK Gaming, T1 and Team Liquid IP esports teams, following long-term partnerships signed with GOG.

About half of the NFTs will be available for sale, the rest will be earned by playing games.

The e-sports industry has been growing rapidly over the past few years.

However, it still has not reached the $3 billion revenue projected by Goldman Sachs in 2018.

According to gaming company Newzoo, esports will generate approximately $1.38 billion in revenue globally in 2022.
