Also this year the E3, one of the most important video game fairs in the world, took place completely digitally. Instead of in Los Angeles, the big publishers presented their innovations again via stream and not in front of a real audience.
The main focus was on new information and moving images on previously announced titles. There were no real blockbuster surprises – except for a real E3 hammer, which Nintendo unpacked shortly before the end. BILD summarizes the most important news from the fair.
“Age Of Empires 4”
More than fifteen years have passed since the last new part of the real-time strategy series “Age Of Empires”. At E3 there was now a fresh gameplay trailer for the fourth part. The game is scheduled to be released for PC on October 28, 2021.
For a long time there wasn’t much information about the sci-fi shooter “Atomic Heart”, but the player is already enthusiastic because of its setting: In the first-person shooter, the player shoots his way through a Soviet research park and meets all sorts of supernatural experiments. Still not really much information and a release date is still missing, but a new trailer was shown at E3 and gives new insights.
In the run-up to E3, developer Dice and publisher Electronic Arts unveiled the latest part of the “Battlefield” series. A new gameplay trailer has now been added for E3, which shows the new shooter in action. From October 22nd, gamers can go into battle on the consoles and PC in matches with up to 128 players at the same time.
The role play “Elden Ring” has been discussed for a long time, although information about the title was still scarce. Not least because “Game Of Thrones” author George RR Martin is involved in the project. At E3 there was finally a first gameplay trailer to be seen.
“Forza Horizon 5”
New fodder for racing game fans, at least for everyone with the Microsoft Xbox Series X / S console: On November 9th, “Forza Horizon 5” is a new offshoot of the open-world racing series. This time it goes to Mexico, which is staged in the trailer with beautiful graphics.

Marvel’s superhero universe is being expanded to include another video game: With a debut trailer, Studio Square Enix has presented a single-player shooter based around the “Guardians of the Galaxy”, which is due to be released on October 26th for consoles and PCs.
“Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2”
Nintendo had the biggest E3 news in its luggage: For the first time, the company showed a gameplay trailer for the successor to “Zelda: Breath Of The Wild”, which is due to appear on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
