Munich The year 2023 began for the suffering shareholders of Siemens Energy as the previous one had started: The wind power specialist Gamesa announced unexpectedly high losses, as a result the parent company Siemens Energy also had to accept the earnings forecasts early in the year.
This time, quality problems with old wind turbines were primarily responsible for the bad news from Madrid. So investors will have to brace themselves for another loss-making year.
“We are currently not seeing any significant progress at Gamesa, quite the opposite,” criticizes Ingo Speich, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Governance at Deka Investment. “The earnings situation at Siemens Energy can only improve if the company gets the problems at Gamesa under control.”
