New in the cinema: “Ghostbusters: Legacy”: Ghostbusters in full swing! – Movie theater

The world has been waiting for these “Ghostbusters”! With a lot of passion, the ghost hunters dare to embark on a new cinema adventure. Despite all the novelties and special effects, unmistakable: the dust-dry humor of the original.

Story: After the death of her estranged father, the single mother Callie (Carrie Coon, 40) travels with her two children to a sleepy village to see what they can inherit – a worthless shack. But their children Phoebe (McKenna Grace, 15) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard, 18, “Stranger Things”) discover old ghost hunting equipment in Grandpa’s estate …

After the shrill female ghost hunters around Melissa McCarthy (51) put off the fans in 2016, they can now breathe a sigh of relief.

This new film may follow a simple and unsurprising plot. But he has his heart in the right place. The children are at the center of the ghost haunt and live up to their elderly predecessors when it comes to language wit and action.

Directed by none other than Jason Reitman (44, “Juno”) – son of original “Ghostbusters” director Ivan Reitman (75). As a child, he was allowed to run around on the set of the first part. Now Reitman delivers an action comedy that fans of the old films could even get wet eyes. You can feel from start to finish how personal the film is for Reitman.

Conclusion: colorful ghosts, lively sayings. “Ghostbusters: Legacy” is a deep and, in the best sense of the word, sweet bow to the original. The world has been waiting for these “Ghostbusters”!
