“New 52-week high underpins uptrend”

Dusseldorf The high for the year so far remains in focus on the German stock market. The Dax was listed at 15,692 points in the first hour of trading, an increase of 0.2 percent.

With yesterday’s daily high of 15,726 points, the leading German index was only eleven points short of reaching a new high for the year. The previous one was 15,736 points and is therefore an important benchmark.

At first glance, Tuesday was a rather dull trading day with a range of only 101 points. Nevertheless, Jörg Scherer, technical analyst at HSBC Germany, noticed something remarkable: On the basis of the daily closing price, the Dax reached a new 52-week high. In the weeks before, there had already been such highs on a weekly close basis and during intraday trading.

“The boom mode was thus underpinned again,” analyzes Scherer. This means that there is also the short-term option of continuing the upward movement towards the 16,000 mark and then towards the all-time high of 16,290 points.
