Frankfurt The rising prices in motor insurance meant that significantly more drivers were looking for a new contract at the end of 2022 than in previous years. In the past switching season, 1.8 million policyholders switched around two million contracts.
Last year there were only 1.3 million. This is the result of a study by the market research institute Sirius Campus.
The market leader Huk-Coburg including Huk24 as well as Allianz, Axa and LVM were able to win the most new business with the changes. According to Sirius Campus, these five companies accounted for 44 percent of all new contracts.
The deadline for changing car insurance is one month before the end of the insurance year. For many drivers, the termination date falls on November 30th. However, there are also contracts with an insurance year that differs from the calendar year.
