Science has long believed that more money does not necessarily mean more happiness in life. In 2010, for example, the Nobel Prize winner Angus Deaton presented a well-regarded study with the result that happiness in life only increases up to an annual income of the equivalent of 69,000 euros. 69,000 euros is a lot of money. But one or the other might have had doubts at the time as to whether everything was right with their own satisfaction.
