Millions of WhatsApp user information stolen!

Half a billion WhatsApp users are under threat

According to the information received, the information of half a billion WhatsApp users was stolen and offered for sale. Accordingly, the current database consisting of mobile phone numbers of 487 million people from 84 different countries fell into the hands of hackers. It is stated that this information, among which there are millions of users from Turkey, is put up for sale.

While it is stated that 20 million of the leaked records are from Turkey, there are more than 32 million US users. In addition, it was claimed that the data of 45 million users in Egypt, 35 in Italy, 29 in Saudi Arabia, 20 in France, 11 in England and 10 million in Russia were stolen.

Leaked phone numbers can be used for many different reasons, including marketing and phishing. It is stated that attackers have already set prices for phone numbers. Hackers who access the data of millions of users can earn billions from this sale.

WhatsApp has been on the agenda many times before about user information violations. Now, it seems that the information of almost half a billion users has fallen into the hands of hackers.
