Meghan Markle has postponed the premiere of her Netflix cooking and lifestyle series, *With Love, Meghan*, originally scheduled for January 15, to March 4. This decision follows devastating wildfires in California, which have caused significant loss and displacement. Meghan and Prince Harry have actively supported wildfire victims, even opening their home to those affected. While praised for their efforts, they face criticism from some who question their motives and label them as ‘disaster tourists.’

Meghan Markle Delays Netflix Show Amid California Wildfires

Meghan Markle’s highly anticipated return to the screen has been put on hold. Instead of celebrating her show *With Love, Meghan*, which was set to premiere on January 15, she has opted for a more reflective approach. The Duchess of Sussex has announced that the launch of her cooking and lifestyle series will be postponed until March 4, as confirmed by Netflix in an official statement.

In her own words, Meghan expressed, *”I am thankful to my partners at Netflix for agreeing to delay the launch, as we prioritize the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state, California.”* The decision to postpone the show comes in the wake of devastating wildfires that have claimed at least 24 lives and left many in the Hollywood community without homes. As a result, premieres and productions have been canceled, reflecting the somber mood in a city grappling with such a crisis.

Support for Wildfire Victims

Last week, Meghan and Prince Harry took immediate action by calling for donations to assist wildfire victims. Reports from *The Telegraph* indicate that the couple has opened their Montecito home to friends affected by the disaster. They were seen visiting Pasadena to meet with residents who have suffered significant losses, initially going unnoticed behind their FFP2 masks as they focused on supporting those in need.

Pasadena’s mayor, Victor Gordo, praised their efforts, stating, *”They were serving food anonymously during their earlier visit. They didn’t come for publicity but to lend a hand.”* Despite their intentions to help, their actions have drawn criticism from some who label them as ‘disaster tourists.’ Actress Justine Bateman voiced her discontent on social media, questioning their motives and suggesting they were seeking attention rather than genuinely helping.

Meghan’s past efforts to support various causes have also been met with backlash, although her work for the survivors of the Grenfell Tower tragedy has generally received a more positive reception. This raises the question: in a world where public service can invite scrutiny, is it possible for individuals to engage in charitable acts without facing criticism?
