Apple held the first stage of the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), or as it is known in our country, the Apple World Developers Conference at the beginning of this month. New versions of operating systems and 2 new MacBook models were introduced here. These devices were expected to go on sale for a while. Today, the pre-order date for the M2 MacBook Air has been announced.
M2 MacBook Air is available for pre-order on July 8 in the US!
According to the claim of a retail market manager who contacted MacRumors, Apple will start taking pre-orders for M2 MacBook Air models in many regions of the world, especially in the USA, from July 8th.
We will have to wait another week for these products to settle on the shelves, that is, to go on sale. However, as of July 15, it will be available in many regions, including the USA, through the Apple Store and other contracted markets. Although this date has not yet been confirmed in our country, it is expected to be opened for pre-order within the next month.
Coming to the features of the device, the M2 processor offers 18 percent higher performance in the CPU, 25 percent in the GPU (GPU goes up to 35 percent) and 40 percent higher in the Neural Engine at the same Watt values compared to its predecessor, the M1. But the M1 Pro is not at a level to compete with the M1 Ultra and M1 Max chips.
Already Apple’s new M2 processor is produced with 2nd generation 5 nm technology, which is an improved version of TSMC’s 5 nm process. Therefore, what it offers us is that it can consume lower power even though it is more powerful than its predecessor.
The M2’s memory controller reaches 100GB/s of combined bandwidth, surpassing the M1 by 50 percent. It also has 25 percent more transistors than its predecessor. This means that there are approximately more than 20 billion.
When we look at the M2 MacBook Air features, we see that it comes with thinner bezels and a notched screen similar to the 2021 model MacBook Pro 14-inch and MacBook Pro 16-inch. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina panel can go up to 500 nits of brightness. In addition, thanks to the new MagSafe charging connector, it can be charged to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
