Introduced in November 2022, the LPDDR5X can offer a data transfer rate of 8.5 Gbps. In LPDDR5T developed by Sk hynix, this value was announced as 9.6 Gbps.
Working in the ultra-low voltage range of 1.01 to 1.12V determined by JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council), the LPDDR5T draws attention with its ultra-low power consumption. SK hynix claims the LPDDR5T will expand beyond smartphones into artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR)
Making a statement on the subject, the company said, “Our company took the technology to the next level in just two months after the launch of LPDDR5X, 8.5Gbps mobile DRAM, in November 2022. We will consolidate our leadership in the mobile DRAM market by offering products with a range of storage capacities that meet customers’ needs.” said.
The company stated that it provides customers with a 16GB multi-chip platform that combines multiple LPDDR5T chips in one place. The developed technology has the capacity to process 77 GB of data per second, which is equivalent to transferring 15 FullHD movies per second.
SK hynix plans to start mass production of the LPDDR5T using 1anm, the fourth generation of 10nm technology, in the second half of the year. Analysts predict that new technology will enter our lives in 2024.
