Dusseldorf Rolf Hollander enjoys legendary status at Cewe. For 15 years he was head of the service provider known for its photo books and until recently he was chairman of the influential Board of Trustees of the Cewe Foundation. He is no longer allowed through the door without permission. Hollander has to report to reception in Oldenburg if he wants to go to “his” company. Details are regulated by a work instruction from New Year’s morning.

All employees are obliged to “no longer allow Hollander access to the resources of the Cewe Group,” it says. The 71-year-old was “excluded from any internal information processes”. In addition, Hollander was “only to be allowed access to all business premises, premises, etc. of the Cewe Group after consultation with the Management Board”.

In Oldenburg this is like a revolution. For the workforce, Hollander and Cewe can hardly be separated mentally. Even years after he left as CEO, they saw the tall man walking through the factory halls and offices again and again.
