Berlin “We must be clear that Russia is getting into a state of chaos and is lashing out” – Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis fears that the militarily ailing Russia is currently more dangerous than ever. Lithuania shares a 600-kilometer border with Belarus, where tens of thousands of Russian soldiers are already stationed. And the fear of a confrontation grows.

In the Handelsblatt interview, Landsbergis talks about the war-critical attitude of the Russian elite, the Kremlin’s destructiveness in the face of military failures and the importance of a NATO alliance for the Baltic states.
