Analysts believe the Lindt & Sprüngli share will grow again after a strong year in 2022.

Cologne According to the Federal Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI), around 230 million chocolate Easter bunnies are produced for Easter. Chocolate is still the most popular sweet among Germans: according to the BDSI, every German citizen eats an average of almost ten kilograms a year.

And Germany is no exception, chocolate is popular across Europe – and Asia-Pacific countries are catching up. This makes chocolate interesting for private investors as well. The shares of the world’s largest manufacturers are trending upwards, and dividend payments are usually added. Chocolate stocks are therefore considered a solid investment.

However, high inflation is also having an impact on them at the moment. Prices have risen, while consumer purchasing power has fallen. Joern Iffert, stock analyst at the major Swiss bank UBS, therefore expects the volume of the chocolate market to shrink by one to two percent this year. Still, three stocks might be worth a look for investors.
