In an exciting match on October 19, PSG faced a surprising Strasbourg team post-international break, ultimately winning 4-2. Coach Luis Enrique rotated his lineup, resting key players. Youngster Senny Mayulu shone, scoring his first Ligue 1 goal, while Marco Asensio added another just before halftime. Despite a late defensive lapse allowing Strasbourg’s Pape Diong to score, PSG claimed the victory, reclaiming the top spot in Ligue 1, though they face challenges ahead in the Champions League.

On Saturday, October 19, PSG faced a surprisingly strong Strasbourg team in a match that marked their return from the international break, while also looking forward to an upcoming Champions League clash. The context made it a potential pitfall for PSG. Coach Luis Enrique opted for a strategy of squad rotation, leaving key players like Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, and Ousmane Dembélé on the bench. Fortunately for the Parisians, their substitutes rose to the occasion, clinching a 4-2 victory that allowed them to reclaim the top spot in Ligue 1 ahead of Monaco on goal difference.

One standout among the young talents trusted by Luis Enrique was ‘Titi’ Senny Mayulu. After hitting the post early in the match (12th minute), the 18-year-old made his mark by scoring his first Ligue 1 goal shortly after (18th minute). Marco Asensio, who is a regular in the squad, also found the net just before halftime, converting a deflected shot from Désiré Doué that was mishandled by goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic (47th minute).

Despite their efforts, Strasbourg managed to close the gap with a goal from Sékou Mara in the 58th minute. However, their defensive vulnerabilities were exploited by Bradley Barcola, who scored PSG’s third goal (65th minute). Substitute Kang-in Lee added another goal late in the match (90th minute), but Strasbourg continued to fight back, with Pape Diong scoring from a corner in stoppage time (90th+2). PSG will need to tighten their defense for their upcoming Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven.
