Microsoft imposes restrictions on Windows Mail, Calendar and Contacts applications
According to Dr.Windows, Microsoft has released popular applications Windows Mail and Calendar gradually out of order plans to quit. These applications will become completely dysfunctional by the end of 2024. Microsoft aims to replace these services with the new Outlook. Since the new Outlook is designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA), users will need to store their IMAP login information on Microsoft servers.
These changes will begin with restrictions in July and will be completed by September 2024. From then on, users will only be able to view existing emails and calendar entries. Sending and receiving mail functions will be disabled. Additionally, support for Windows Mail, Calendar, and Contacts apps will end on December 31.
