Innovative solution for the rental problem in Cities: Skylines 2: Virtual landlords have been removed
The high rent problem faced by players in C:S2 is being tried to be solved with the “Economy 2.0” update. By removing virtual landlords from the game, the developers divided the costs of maintaining the buildings equally among the tenants. Additionally, a new and simple formula has been introduced for rent calculations: Rent = (Land Value + (Area Type * Building Level)) * Plot Size * Area Multiplier.
If the tenants in the game have sufficient income but are experiencing cash shortage, they will not complain and reduce their consumption. However, if their income is not enough, they will look for cheaper housing or leave the city. The developers suggest that players provide jobs to their citizens to solve their rent problem.
