Kaspersky Releases Cryptocurrency Threats 2023 Report: The Table Is Amazing

Kaspersky, a well-established cybersecurity company, cryptocurrency published a research report on the risks faced by its users. Prepared by experts based on American citizens “Crypto Threats 2023” 2,000 US contributors contributed to the report.

Kasperskyasked the people in the sample about cryptocurrencies in October of last year. 24% of respondents to the survey stated that they own a digital asset. While the crypto ownership of participants aged 25-44 increased to 36%, this figure was limited to 10% for citizens aged 55 and over.

One-Third of Investors Have Been Scammed!

According to Kaspersky’s report, which was originally prepared to address crypto risks, the answer given by the participants to a question is jaw-dropping. 33% (one-third) of American crypto owners responded that they had been exposed to crypto fraud in the past and their assets had been stolen.

Cybersecurity experts have determined that the average value of cryptoassets stolen from a citizen is $97,000 based on the data they have collected. Unlike crypto ownership, younger citizens (ages 18-24) are more prone to fraud. 47% of young people lose their crypto holdings, compared to only 8% of seniors.

Kaspersky officials emphasized that the majority of investors are victims of their lack of attention to security. While 27% of crypto owners do not take any action, the portion using authentication is limited to 34%.
