Dusseldorf Whether bus, train or e-scooter: More and more companies are offering their employees alternatives to the company car. The most recent example is the software company SAP. From April, all authorized employees there want to be provided with a mobility budget instead of a car. Employees are given a certain amount and can spend it on the means of transport of their choice.
With actions like these, companies not only save emissions, they also focus more on the needs of their employees. “There are so many different ways for employees to shape their personal mobility,” says Sebastian Pacher, compensation expert at Kienbaum human resources consultancy.
Employers can make themselves more attractive with mobility alternatives, especially among the younger generations, for whom company cars are increasingly losing their attraction – and thus stand out from the competition. The Handelsblatt asked the 40 DAX companies what offers they make to applicants in terms of mobility. The result is a list of the five most common company car alternatives.
