Job postings at record level, but trend is flattening out

Dusseldorf The good news should be treated with caution: The job advertisements in the 40 Dax companies have again reached a record high. 29,082 jobs were advertised on the company’s own portals in August. Compared to July (28,418), this is an increase of 2.3 percent.

This is the result of data from the job platform Indeed, which evaluates job advertisements at Germany’s most important listed companies every month. A steady upward trend has been evident since January. The shortage of skilled workers is making itself felt in the HR departments – and offers applicants many opportunities.

The high demand for employees can be attributed, among other things, to the particularly large number of training and internship positions (7475). There are also seasonal effects, for example that Deutsche Post is looking for many new parcel delivery people in preparation for the busy Christmas season.
