No pension cuts, no extension of working life: the pension plans of the SPD, FDP and Greens basically leave everything as it was when it comes to pensions. With one exception: Part of the pension contributions are to be invested in the capital market in the future.

Axel Börsch-Supan is critical of these plans. The pension expert warns against pushing important reforms further and further back. The longer you wait, the bigger the shock, he says. It will be tight as early as 2025. Because in three or four years the baby boomers will retire. Three million new retirees then want to be supported.
