Apple is making a name for itself in the technology world this year with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. iPhone 16 Pro Max, which is particularly assertive about the performance and battery life of the device, left its competitors behind in the latest tests. In this context, battery life tests carried out by PhoneBuff, known for its technology reviews, attracted great attention.

iPhone 16 Pro Max surpassed its rival in the test!

In the test, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra were compared using various applications. In the test, both devices were controlled by a robotic arm and the phones performed a variety of tasks. As a result, the new generation iPhone broke a record by lasting a total of 28 hours and 14 minutes.

During this period, the device worked for 12 hours in active use with the screen on and in standby mode for 16 hours. It was recorded as the device with the longest battery life among the smartphones PhoneBuff has tested to date.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra achieved a result very close to the iPhone with a battery life of 27 hours and 18 minutes, but it still ran out of battery about 1 hour ago. To make an interesting comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, tested with iOS 17 last year, showed a performance of 27 hours and 45 minutes.

This year’s test was more challenging than previous tests. More scrolling was simulated, especially on Instagram and other social media apps. During testing, iPhone and Galaxy experienced common scenarios in daily life, such as messaging, email management, internet browser usage, social media browsing, watching YouTube, gaming and listening to music.

The robotic arm used by PhoneBuff simulated user interactions in the most realistic way by making precise inputs to devices. Thus, battery life tests have become a comprehensive benchmark that is not just about playing videos or constantly browsing websites, but covering the versatile usage scenarios that phones face in the real world.
