Frankfurt The investment professionals agree on one point: the stock markets will probably get more uncomfortable in autumn. After a weak September, there could also be stronger fluctuations on the stock exchanges in the final quarter. The reasons are rising inflation, a possible tightening of US monetary policy and a weakening economic upswing.

Andreas Hürkamp, ​​equity strategist at Commerzbank, therefore expects a “nervous rocking exchange on the German stock market” by the end of the year. DZ Bank analyst Sven Streibel expects a “continued increase in stock market volatility”. And according to Christian Schmidt from Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba), the “correction potential is far from being exhausted”.

There was a foretaste of the development on Friday: The Dax started the month of October with a minus of 0.7 percent. At times, the leading German index even slipped below the 15,000 mark and ended up closing at 15,156 points.
