Investors are back in the US – these are the reasons

The US stock market is currently in demand as a safe haven for investors.

Dusseldorf, Frankfurt The time had come this year: Equity strategists were confident that the European stock exchanges were doing better than the markets in the USA. They had already forecast that last year, but this time they pointed to the favorable valuations, the support from the expansive economic policy and the growing economy. Four months later, the reality is different: Europe has been disenchanted, and everything is currently in favor of the US stock exchanges.

“The USA is a safe haven for equity investors,” says Robert Halver, head of capital market analysis at Baader Bank, with a view to the Ukraine war, which has shaken up the financial markets. Since Russia invaded, the leading US index Dow Jones has risen by more than five percent, while its European counterpart, the Euro Stoxx 50, has lost nine percent over the same period.
