Cryptocurrency exchange Bitrota has been the subject of an investigation in the past. According to the investigation, 10 suspects, one of whom was imprisoned, were defrauding investors through Bitrota. In the indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, articles such as the working principles of Bitcoin and crypto money platforms were included. It was announced that Endless Yazılım Teknoloji was founded on July 16, 2018 in Kayseri, with 75% owned by Hasan Özkan and 25% by Kenan Altun. According to the indictment, the capital of the company increased to 1 million liras in a period of almost two and a half years. Then, on August 17, 2021, all shares of the company passed to Kenan Altun. Meanwhile, Özkan showed the address of Endless Yazılım Teknoloji Bilişim Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ on June 9, 2020 and established Bitrota Teknoloji Virtual and Trade AŞ with a capital of 200 thousand liras.
The suspects told investors via Telegram, “Dear users, we are working diligently to return to the long-missed Bitrota Exchange system. It should be noted that first of all, Bitrota Exchange is an exchange brand recognized by the Republic of Turkey.” In Telegram messages, altcoins such as Bitrota, TLNT Coin, Cent Coin were advertised, it was claimed that they would be locked with the staking system and earn monthly and daily earnings.
According to the indictment, users who wanted to sell as the coins rose to high levels could not sell. According to the indictment, the founders of the company inflicted a loss of 53.9 million lira on 532 victims with the pyramid sales system. As a result, prison sentences ranging from 3,724 years to 10,640 years were requested for 10 suspects, including the company’s partners Altun and Özkan.
