Youssoufa Moukoko’s age has ignited controversy after his alleged father, Joseph Moukoko, signed an affidavit claiming the player is not his biological son and disputing his reported birth date of November 20, 2004. This revelation will be explored in an upcoming Pro7 report, which suggests Moukoko may actually be four years older. Borussia Dortmund maintains that official documents verify his age. Currently on loan at OGC Nice, Moukoko’s career has seen ups and downs, including a World Cup call-up.

Youssoufa Moukoko’s Age Controversy: New Claims Emerge

For an extended period, the age of Youssoufa Moukoko has been a topic of intrigue and speculation. Recently, Joseph Moukoko, who is believed to be his father, made a significant revelation by signing an affidavit. In this document, he asserts that the widely accepted birth date of the German national player is inaccurate and claims that Youssoufa is not his biological son.

According to Joseph Moukoko’s affidavit, “Youssoufa Moukoko is not my biological son, nor is he the son of my wife, Marie. He was not born on November 20, 2004, in Yaoundé, Cameroon.” This affidavit has raised many eyebrows and has been made public for scrutiny.

Upcoming Coverage on the Moukoko Case

The case surrounding Moukoko will be featured in an upcoming report by Pro7 titled ‘Tricking, Cheating, Deceiving – The Million-Dollar Business with Football Talents,’ scheduled to air on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 7 PM. In this report, Joseph Moukoko asserts that his son is actually four years older than the official records indicate. However, the details regarding an alternative birth date remain unclear.

The affidavit, which Joseph Moukoko signed on August 1, 2023, contradicts an earlier statement he made in a court case where he claimed the opposite. Under German law, making false statements under oath can lead to serious legal consequences, including a prison sentence of up to three years.

Currently, Youssoufa Moukoko is playing for OGC Nice in France’s top football league after being loaned from Borussia Dortmund at the beginning of the season. He remains under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2026.

When asked for a comment on the recent developments, Borussia Dortmund stated that the biological parents and birth dates of Youssoufa Moukoko are based on official identification documents and birth certificates issued by a German authority, which are still valid and serve as the foundation for playing permits for both club and national team participation.

In the Pro7 report, Joseph Moukoko suggests that Borussia Dortmund was aware of Youssoufa’s true age, which has prompted further inquiry. However, the club has opted not to provide additional comments beyond their official statement.

Youssoufa Moukoko moved to Germany from Cameroon in 2014 and began his career with FC St. Pauli. He transferred to Dortmund two years later, quickly making a name for himself as a prolific striker and earning the title of ‘wonder kid.’ Just after turning 16 in November 2020, Moukoko became the youngest player in Bundesliga history.

Despite his early promise, Moukoko’s career trajectory has not followed the meteoric rise that many anticipated. Nonetheless, he was called up by national coach Hansi Flick to join the squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, surprising many fans and analysts alike.

Now, as he embarks on a loan spell at OGC Nice, the question remains: what led to this decision? The intense competition for spots at Borussia Dortmund prompted this move. Moukoko achieved significant success, including winning the German championship with the U17 team in 2018 and the European Championship with the U21 team in 2021, despite not participating in the latter tournament.
