Institutional investors focus on shares in the euro zone

Frankfurt It hasn’t happened in a long time: Eurozone stocks are beating Wall Street. In the past three months, the leading euro zone index, the Euro Stoxx 50, has risen by almost 21 percent. It has gained more than twice as much as the American S&P 500, which has risen almost nine percent since then. According to calculations by the US bank Morgan Stanley, there has not been such a clear outperformance for 20 years.

The surprisingly good development of stocks from the euro area is attracting more and more investors. This is shown by Bank of America’s current, well-regarded fund manager survey of 253 portfolio managers worldwide, who together manage 710 billion US dollars. According to this, four percent of those surveyed were overweight in shares in the euro zone.
