Dusseldorf Rent, energy, fuel, even the daily bread roll: our lives are becoming more expensive in many respects. One yardstick for this is the inflation rate. This has recently exceeded the four percent mark in Germany – and thus higher than it has been in 28 years.

At the same time, collectively agreed wages are currently growing more slowly than prices are rising. For many employees, the high inflation means less purchasing power.

One or the other would like to renegotiate on income. But salary trainer Claudia Kimich urges caution when arguing that everything has become more expensive – for two reasons:
