When “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” candidate Heinrich Annas (58) wanted to log in the wrong answer on Monday evening, Günther Jauch (65) unexpectedly pulled an extra joker up his sleeve. This has never been seen on the quiz show!
At the “Thank You Special”, spectators who had no idea before landed on the council chair. Because they were secretly registered by relatives or friends who wanted to say thank you. In addition to the four regular jokers, the guessing foxes had a fifth available: They were also allowed to consult with their companion.
Heinrich Annas also had a sixth helper in the course of the program. He was lured into the studio by his family. The North Rhine-Westphalian runs a social department store in Rheine. There he hires people who fall through the cracks elsewhere. His children in the special edition: “You are not only our dad but also a huge role model.”
Her father was accordingly excited. Jauch already had to help with the 50 euro question: “If the poultry did not end up on the plate on St. Martin’s Day differently than planned, is it a …?” The choices were Gapunzel, Frau Golle, Gumpelstilzchen and Gans im Glück ( correct).
Annas had no clue. “I’ve never heard that before.” Günther Jauch had to intervene for the first time. The moderator in the headteacher’s speech: “What is the poultry on Martin’s Day and what is its fate?” So his counterpart found the right answer.
At 2000 euros it got really tricky. The quiz master wanted to know from his candidate: “Who, instead of the rumored $ 21 million per season at the LA Lakers, now earns” only “5.9 million at the Boston Celtics?” Schmidt, Schröder, Kohl or Adenauer?

Annas’ telephone joker was pretty sure that he was Schmidt. A load fell from the candidate’s heart. He believed, “He knows. He reads a lot. ”The 65-year-old’s children were also in good spirits. Only Jauch knew better. To prevent the clueless from ending prematurely, he reached deep into his bag of tricks.
Jauch announced: “For the first time in the history of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ a new joker. It’s the moderator’s joker, also known as the veto joker. “What it was all about, the quizmaster explained with a mischievous grin:” Veto means: You are FORBIDDEN to use the telephone joker solution. “
Annas should take another joker instead and asked someone in the audience. The man finally gave him the right answer: Schröder. So the whole thing had just gone well again. In the end, the lucky guy was able to take home 32,000 euros and wants to help others with part of the money.
