Munich / Cologne – She already yodeled the “Archduke Johann Yodel” with the Inuit in Canada, in a beer hall in Tokyo, between the icebergs in Greenland in silence and in a glow worm cave in New Zealand. Now yodelling star Uschi Bauer (71) is daring to take part in the RTL show “Das Supertalent”.
Nobody yodels as fast as Uschi. It creates 24 notes per second. World record! “I yodel every day, it strengthens my voice. I live in the country and can’t annoy anyone with my yodelling. Only my cats turn on their ears and look at me in horror, ”says Bauer to BILD and laughs.
The fast yodeler wants to charm the “super talent jury” with the “Klarinettenmuckl yodeler Dixie”. “I was very excited. Heart pounding without end, clammy hands. Yodelling polarizes, some love it, others reject it, ”says the native of Munich.

Uschi Bauer sings everything except opera. As a gala singer on cruise ships, she traveled all over the world. She has released 13 records, 14 CD albums and 6 CD singles. She took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music three times, and in 1987 she took third place. For their song “Die kleine Bergkirche (Ave-Maria)” they got double platinum!

Not everyone can yodel, says Bauer. “You need a punch when you pull through a note. It’s like a kink in the sound. ”When yodelling, the chest voice goes over into the head voice. “You need a yodelling language, you can’t yodel in every language. And in the right tone, ”explains the yodel expert.
Yodelling helped Uschi Bauer to get through a severe blow of fate. In 2018 the shock diagnosis: pulmonary embolism and pulmonary infarction. Doctors predicted permanent damage. “I was on the verge of death. By yodelling I regained my vocal volume and fought my way back to life. “
Officially the fastest female yodeler in the world! Bauer has been yodelling since she was seven. “I’m a larynx acrobat!”
With her appearance at Supertalent, the trained secretary wants to make the art of yodelling better known. “I would be happy if young people try yodelling too!”, Says Uschi Bauer.
