Berlin Germany can only become climate-neutral if climate-neutral hydrogen is used in industry and transport – that much is clear. The rapid development of a complete hydrogen value chain therefore plays a decisive role in the plans of the federal government and many companies.
In a few years, hydrogen-based processes should significantly reduce CO2 emissions from the steel and chemical industries. According to the plan, hydrogen also plays a decisive role in heavy-duty, ship and air traffic. Wherever the direct use of electricity is not possible, hydrogen is needed. But how realistic are the plans?
