Huawei, which has experienced a shrinkage in the smartphone market due to the US embargo in the past years, is preparing to enter the US market again. Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei announced that they are redesigning some electronic components to solve the US embargo issue.

The Shenzhen-based company has been heavily hit by US sanctions over the past few years, amid concerns about the company’s ties to the Chinese military and intensifying technology competition. The Trump administration added Huawei to an export blacklist on national security grounds in 2019, undermining the company’s dominance in the smartphone market.
Speaking at the event held by Nanjing University, Ren Zhengfei stated that they developed their own resource planning system MetaERP due to the sanctions. Huawei will use its own operating system, data system, compiler and programming language.

Making a statement on the subject, Zhengfei said, “Due to the US embargo, which we have been fighting for almost three years, as a Huawei company, we have redesigned more than 4,000 circuit boards. In total, we have made an effort to overcome US sanctions by making changes to more than 13,000 components.” made statements.
Zhengfei added that he was an advocate of western technology when he was young, even now he is not “anti-Western.” Making a statement about R&D studies, Zhengfei said that Huawei spent $23.8 billion on research and development in 2022.
Making a statement about ChatGPT, Zhengfei said, “Microsoft, together with OpenAI, created an opportunity in the field of artificial intelligence. OpenAI is not the only dominant player in the field of artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence industry needs high-performance machines.
