HSV – ex-boss Udo Bandow: Jansen must not cling to his office | Sports

Udo Bandow (90) is HSV’s good conscience. The former head of the supervisory board, during whose term of office (1996 to 2007) the club was almost a permanent guest in Europe and even qualified twice for the Champions League, is very annoyed by the quarrels in the management level of his club.

Bandow: “Only the sporting achievements and the chance of promotion to the Bundesliga console me.”

The former banker, who still maintains many contacts in the club, is particularly saddened by the work of the HSV supervisory board: “You can only be successful in the club as a whole if there is a close relationship between the control committee and the sports board. Otherwise you cannot make important and correct decisions. Unfortunately, this does not appear to be the case.”

Bandow is particularly critical of the current council boss Marcell Jansen (37): “This position is one of the most important in the club. The head of the supervisory board must march forward, be a strong personality who is predictable, makes clear statements and thus sends a clear signal. I can’t see any of that at the moment.”

The former chairman of the Hanseatic Stock Exchange is totally disappointed by Jansen’s work: “Right from the start he was the wrong person to fill the position.”

The small shareholders and large shareholders Klaus-Michael Kühne (85) have withdrawn their confidence in Jansen. Bandow: “It’s absurd that he’s going on. Jansen clings to an office that no longer has any value if you are distrusted.” And: “It is inconceivable that he would pull this off.”

Bandow hopes that the head of the controller will give up: “It is high time that Jansen took this step.”
