Bangkok In times of global recession fears, India is on the upswing: The factories in industrial centers like Pune and Chennai are currently busier than they have been for a long time. Orders from abroad saw the strongest increase since 2011 in May. Two thirds of the companies want to expand their staff in the coming months. They are as optimistic as they were last almost a decade ago.

Economists continue to forecast growth in economic output of eight to nine percent this year. India is the clear leader among the G20 countries.

However, investors who want to benefit from the rise of the country with a population of 1.4 billion must be prepared for a volatile market. Analysts expect that prices on the Mumbai stock exchange could come under additional pressure in the coming months due to persistently high inflation and rising interest rates.
