Berlin A fair or, at best, above-average salary is something that every working person would like to have. And the salary is one of the most important drivers for job changes: According to studies such as the current “New Hiring” survey by the career network Xing, most people still change their job primarily because of the money.
But if you want to negotiate your dream salary, you need a benchmark and have to find out: “Is what I’m being offered actually appropriate?”
Bernd Slaghuis, a career coach from Cologne, knows that this is not an easy question to answer. “I experience a great deal of uncertainty when it comes to salary, from those just starting their career to 59-year-old professionals with many years of experience.”
