In the past week, gas consumption per day averaged 608 gigawatt hours and was thus 31 percent lower than in the same calendar weeks from 2018 to 2021 (881 gigawatt hours), the Federal Network Agency announced on Thursday in Bonn. The decline is due to the relatively warm weather, but also to deliberate savings. “That’s encouraging, we have to continue like this,” said Netzagentur boss Klaus Müller. Industry used an average of 1152 gigawatt hours. A year ago it was almost 400 gigawatt hours more.
