How investors can benefit from trends in theme ETFs

Dusseldorf With themed ETFs, investors can invest in specific areas. This form of investment was already popular last year – at that time especially in the areas of health, technology, automation and robotics as well as alternative energies, said Markus Jordan, head of the finance portal extraETF, in the episode of “Handelsblatt Today”.

In today’s episode there is an update, because other areas have also played a greater role in theme ETFs since the start of the Ukraine war. Jordan has identified gold, the circular economy and, above all, cybersecurity as current trending topics.

“Cybersecurity is an important issue, especially for states in terms of infrastructure. It has already been seen that governments launch various attacks digitally, even when they are involved in acts of war,” says Jordan. He also rates the sales of cybersecurity companies as relatively stable because company development remains relatively constant regardless of general economic development.

Jordan explains in the current episode of what investors should consider when investing in themed ETFs, to what extent a weighting of 70:30 between MSCI World and emerging markets currently makes sense and how the ETF market will continue to change taking the war into account Handelsblatt Today.
