Frankfurt Is the long boom in US stocks and big tech stocks over? “Yes, now there is a trend reversal,” believes Bernhard Langer, senior market strategist at large asset manager Invesco.

If he is right, many index investors in particular would have to think about alternatives. This is because share savings plans with exchange-traded index funds, or ETFs for short, are often based on the MSCI World index. And it is now doubly top-heavy: in US stocks and in tech stocks.

“Of course, you can see from the composition of the index what has gone well in the past,” explains Langer. This composition of the yardstick is based on the stock market values ​​of the companies involved, in the MSCI World currently more than 1500 shares from 23 industrialized countries.
