Home office jobs are booming in these German cities

Dusseldorf Good news for employees who like to split the week between office and home work: Remote work is also booming at companies. Job advertisements with an explicit option to (partially) work from home have multiplied as a result of the pandemic.

From January 2019 to September 2022, the proportion of jobs offered on a mobile and hybrid basis rose by an average of 400 percent. This is shown by a current data analysis by the job exchange Indeed and the video meeting provider Zoom. The advantages for employees are clear: family and career can be combined more easily, and there is less time for commuting to the office. This doesn’t only apply in the job metropolises like Berlin, Munich or Cologne.

Even in medium-sized German cities, remote work is becoming more and more common. The offer is particularly good in three cities, as the evaluation shows. It also shows in which areas applicants currently have good chances of a remote job.
