Moscow In Russia, the head of one of the leading Internet security companies has been arrested on suspicion of high treason. Ilya Sachkow from Group IB will initially be taken into custody for two months, a Moscow court said on Wednesday. The Tass news agency reported, citing security circles, that Sachkow was suspected of having provided foreign intelligence services with information. But he rejects the allegations.
Group IB deals with high technology crimes and online fraud. International customers include banks, energy providers, telecommunications companies and the international investigative agency Interpol. If convicted, Sachkov faces up to 20 years imprisonment.
