Hardly anything works this year

Jaguar iPace

The electric Brite is one of the few electric cars with a short delivery time.

Hamburg Electric car buyers still need patience. Only a few models can be delivered after this year, according to a survey by the new car portal “Carwow”. Accordingly, the average delivery time is only three months for the luxury models Jaguar i-Pace and Mercedes EQS.

Customers have to wait an average of four to 19 months for all other cars. In individual cases, however, it can also be faster depending on the vehicle configuration. In addition to the i-Pace and EQS, the Mercedes EQE, Fiat Ducato station wagon and Tesla Model Y are also available within two to three months. Only the latter come – at least in the basic equipment – to enjoy the state purchase bonus. The other models are too expensive with a list price of over 65,000 euros.

For numerous cheaper models, the delivery time is at least one year. These include the Kia EV6, Opel Combo E Life, Renault Mégane E-Tech and Renault Zoe. Buyers of an Audi Q4 E-Tron who have to wait between 18 and 20 months need the most patience.

From 2023, the purchase premium will drop from a maximum of 9,000 euros to a maximum of 6,750 euros. For electric cars with a list price of more than 40,000 euros, there is a maximum of 4500 euros. Plug-in hybrids are no longer subsidized by the state.
