Google search results can now be removed!

Personal data belonging to all people are now stored on servers that we think are safe on the internet. We need to think of this not only as social media platforms like Facebook, but also by taking into account sites such as e-Government.

However, we can take a step to ensure that our personal data, which we have shared with our own hands or caused by third parties, are no longer included in Google search results, either due to a possible deficit in these sites.

If Google search results contain your personal data, apply to have it removed!

According to the informational message shared by Google today, we can now directly request removal if the search results contain personal data. It is stated that artificial intelligence will take action much faster if there is information such as e-mail address or phone number in this data.

To do this, it will be enough to follow the steps below:

  • Click the three dots in the top right to remove the search result that shared your data.
  • The “About this result” panel will open.
  • Here, click on the “Remove Result” option.
  • You will then be asked a question with 3 options.
  • If one of these data is violated, it is stated that your request will be checked faster.
  • Here you choose whether it is shared from phone number, home address or e-mail address.
  • Then click on the profile button in the upper right to go to the “Results about you” section in the upper right.
  • Here you will see 3 options “All requests”, “In progress” and “Approved”.
  • On the same page, you can make a new request through the section “Why do you want to remove this result”.
  • Of course, here you have to tick one of the different options such as “Shows my personal contact information”, “Shows the person I entered with the aim of harming me”, “Shows other personal information”, “Contains illegal information” and “Not up to date”.
